Back to Normal with Enrico Gnaulati

There has been a 41% increase in the diagnosis of ADHD over the past decade, a forty-fold spike in childhood bipolar diagnoses, and autism spectrum disorders, once considered rare, have increased by 78%.  Today’s guest, clinical psychologist Dr. Enrico Gnaulati has witnessed firthand the increase in the diagnosis of these disorders in children and is here today on Healthwatch to talk about why he believes children are being overdiagnosed and how parents and professionals can distinguish between true psychiatric disorders and normal childhood reactions to stressful life situations.  His new book is Back to Normal: Why Ordinary Childhood behavior is mistaken for ADHD, Bipolar disorder and Autism Spectrum disorder.
